DECEMBER 2015

Thank you to everyone who donated gifts and refreshments to our Great Girls 2015 Festive-Season Party! It was a wonderful success, with every girl (including our alumni community of Great Girls participants from 2014) receiving a beautiful gift filled with essential goodies and little treats. It was also a wonderful opportunity for everyone to reconnect after the closing of the 2015 programme and discuss everyone’s goals and aspirations for 2016. Click here for more photographs from the party!

What an incredible way to finish 2014’s Programme in Lavender Hill! Click here for all the photos. Our participants were tested on everything they’ve learnt so far with six 20-minute mock interviews from industry experts. And we couldn’t have been prouder with how they performed, not to mention their incredible CVs and beautiful, office-appropriate outfits. The afternoon was taken up with final feedback and the graduation ceremony – including participants’ family members – where we not only congratulated our Class of 2014, but we also recognised nine Top Achievers, who were gifted either Prepare for the Workplace: Insider Tips for the Trade by Karina Bognon or Your First Year of Work by Shelagh Foster. So proud! We will be tracking the progress of our 2014 graduates for the next two years, as part our commitment to them.

Take a look inside our fantastic Module 5 of the 2014 Programme in Lavender Hill here, where participants each received an interview outfit, personally styled by Raffy Roberts of Chic Mamas Do Care. The outfits were also all tailored to the girls by Renate Taljard on the day. And in the afternoon, our Great Girls headed off on their outing to The Masque Theatre, to watch the play ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’. Thank you everyone who donated clothing and got involved!

Help! We need some great business clothes for our first group of Great Girls. The clothing can be previously loved, but preferably ‘ever so lightly’ worn, and any size from S-XXL.

We’ve got an exciting ‘workplace styling’ morning lined up on 20 September, where each of our girls will be personally styled by Raffy Roberts of Chic Mamas, and they will be leaving with one outfit that will see them through their first interview of business meeting. Can you help us?

If you are interested, please can you let us know (email info@greatgirls.co.za, post on our Facebook page here, or call 083 656 2666 and we can gladly arrange collection. Our drop off areas are (but not limited to): Paarl, Woodstock, Cape Town CBD, Oak Glen, Tamboerskloof, Century City, Rondebosch, Claremont, Diep River, Bergvliet (Chic Mamas store), Fishhoek, Stellenbosch.

Thank you! #Give2GreatGirls
